Current Opportunities:
Student Worker, Job Description: College student with a biological science major to help with medical research. General laboratory assistance working with patient blood and tissue samples, some office assistance to include literature searches, photocopying and filing. 6 – 10 hours/week, preferably between 11:00 am and 2:30 pm weekdays and Thursday afternoons. Salary range of $8.00 - $10.00 depending on qualifications. Excellent opportunity to gain knowledge of the medical field and learn about clinical and laboratory research.
Manage, negotiate, and provide support for contract/grant awards. Assist with problem resolution regarding accounting and budgeting. Assist in developing and maintaining a comprehensive grant writing training program for professional staff. Typical qualifications would be a baccalaureate degree and two (2) years of direct experience with federal grants, policies and procedures, and research administration. Must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication and organizational skills; knowledge of federal grant processes, policies and procedures; ability to work within deadlines, policies and procedures, perform multiple tasks concurrently, and work under minimal supervision. Working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheets.
ALS Research Nurse, Part-time, 10 hrs/week MMRF seeks RN, NP, PA or other qualified health professional to join the Neurology Dept at Hennepin County Medical Center (an ALSA-certified ALS Center) and serve as the study coordinator for two clinical drug trials in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. One of the trails requires Hickman catheter training and catheter checks. Requires current MN licensure/certification to practice as RN, NP or PA. Previous experience with ALS patients is preferred.
