Advanced Therapies for End Stage Heart Failure

Speaker: Andrew Boyle, MD, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Division of Cardiology, Heart Failure and Transplantation, University of Minnesota

Speaker: Lyle D. Joyce, MD, PhD, Professor of Surgery, Cardiovascular Center at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview

Program included:

  • Review of the latest surgical procedures available for patients with complications of CHF.
  • Outline of the indications for each procedure
  • Discussion onpatient selection criteria for ventricular assist devices and patient follow-up care.
  • Discussion on the physiology behind the new technology.
