- The Minneapolis Medical Research Foundation (MMRF) oversees the medical research that is conducted at Hennepin County Medical Center, an acute care research and teaching hospital.
- MMRF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is the third largest nonprofit medical research foundation in Minnesota.
- Founded in 1952 at Minneapolis General Hospital (now HCMC), the MMRF's mission is to improve patient care and the health of our community through research and education.
- Throughout its history, MMRF has been closely linked with strong patient care programs and the training and continuing education of physicians and scientists.
- MMRF supports the work more than 200 investigators, including MDs, MD/PhDs, and PhDs, and administers approximately $20 million in research funds annually.
- MMRF ranks in the top 7 percent nationally of all institutions receiving research funds from the National Institutes of Health.
